ever try a PHP full-stack framework
like CakePHP, symfony, or PHPonTrax? or how about glue frameworks/component libraries like PEAR's QuickForms library? or Zend Framework? or CodeIgniter? or considered rolling your own forms library? (it's not that tough).

i think your comment about PHP being too code oriented is hilarious in an ironic sense. god forbid programmers should have to deal with too much code. yikes! my IDE should just write it all for me, dang it! begs the question what your purpose is.

RoR made development 10 times faster too.....for about 3 types of applications. WebForms may be great, but sometimes using an object to place an anchor tag is overkill (did someone say MySpace?).

i wonder why users of the once massively popular MySpace community (notoriously slow .NET/CF) have migrated to Facebook (PHP 5 with its own developer API for custom site plugins). ok, you're right, it's the spam.

the fact that you use PHP 4 heavily either means you're one of the lazy who have put off refactoring your applications to the new standard, or you haven't convinced your clients that it's worth it if they want their company to grow. or maybe you're just too busy, that's a valid excuse. maybe you're not a programmer, like Matt Mullenweg, and you like to cling to the easiest thing out there and hope that it never goes away.
