Intel aims to speed Linux gadget development
I as well as many others will be staying far away from this initiative. We want a device that works, not one that we have to reprogram every couple of days nor one that constantly kernel panics. Linux has shown that it is not suitable for mobile devices. It will open a gateway to constant hacks and attacks since it is based on shells that allow telnet services. Its just not worth the risk to use linux for mobile or any other type of devices. There are already platforms for this and linux's "me too" attitude won't get it very far. I won't get into the overly restrictive license that programmers will need to follow should they get suckered in by this.
