I couldn't have said it better...
myself. Office is totally overpriced and there has been no serious improvements in features since office 97. And changing the way things are done within the app only makes for an unneccessary learning curve.

If CEO's knew that CIO's were spending money for nothing, it would stop and software prices would drop to what they are actually worth.

There are only so many ways you can compose a document or add a column in a spreadsheet. Microsoft was forced to use version compatibility to urge people to upgrade. If doc's were compatible between versions, most company's would not have upgraded their Office apps like they have done. There is simply no need to spend money to get nothing.
