You are right that using Linux gives better security.
However their is a strong opposition to using Linux.
Most people have been using Windows related programs for a decade. Adobe etc and really their is no real alternative to these programs in linux. The Windows environment is cash driven and the big companies will not go to Linux.
I like Linux and it is better than listening to Steve Ballmer.
