Extortion
Assume Judge Jackson was correct and that Microsoft remains a criminal organization (the latter I question, the former appears proven). In Al Capone's time, mafia-style organizations forced bar owners to purchase less suitable liquor products. Those products could not be used in retail sales because consumers wouldn't purchase them.

This article makes it almost clear that Massachusetts decision makers are being overly influenced mafia-style into purchasing Microsoft Office 2003/ other Microsoft products, even though those products are (by current policy) not going to be used.

Every IT worker knows that Microsoft has forced out good men who stand up for what is obvious. Jackson himself, for example.

Prior to ruling against Microsoft, Jackson was expected to become a Supreme Court Justice. In light of the Libby case, the nation could really use him there at this time. Massachusetts really could use the professional IT decision makers no longer working for the state about now.

In the mean time Massachusetts will do like Washington state. The extortion money will be paid so that the management decision makers need not worry about their livelihood and their families; the products likely will not be used because professional IT programmers will implement the ODF and PDF standards. American Programmers rule. We have risen and are really quite strong now. Stronger than EU programmers no doubt. Strong enough to keep H1-Bs out.

Programmers that support industry standardization rise and become expert witnesses in court cases involving management decision makers who purchase Microsoft products owing to extortion, rather than business benefit. Seriously, where is the benefit? There is none. This becomes oh so much clearer over time when those products do not get used except by the executives. The decision makers look bad even to those who do not know about industry standards. Hence the draft discussed in this article. The draft is a form of cover up. It really should be withdrawn.
