India's Kerala state goes open source
Kerala to fall behind significantly in technology and literacy. Lets face the facts here, linux has never had a purpose in life. And to try to use it like Kerala is will just make the digital divide that much bigger. There is hardly any software for linux, you have to check each component's software version against the new version number on the home page, download the source, recompile and hope it doesn't error out, then install it - but try to figure out where it installed the files. Did it go in /bin or did it go in /sbin or /usr or where? Too many problems with linux and Kerala is going to find out the hard way what they are.
