I work for a 6 Billion dollar company. I have insurance and drug coverage through this company. Taken out of my check monthly right now is $70.00..as my cost for this insurance.

Now because of some escape clause the government gave the insurance industry, I also have to have Medicare for at least the next 3 years. So that is another $70.00 a month out of my check. Then of coarse there is the Co-pays.

Now that is but a small part of my monthy costs, for even with insurance and drug benefits and medicare....I pay roughly $530.00 per month as my share of the drug costs to treat my ills.

(4) of the drugs I take to keep my transplanted kidney from rejecting alone would cost me $1200.00 EACH that is 4 x $1200.00 per MONTH!! If I did not have my coverage. And that is not the limit of my drugs...just the most expensive ones.

If I am lucky I might get a cost of living raise in the 3% range next year. The cost of medicare, my insurance coverage rise will easily swallow that. Then there is the yearly average of 10 to 14 percent that drugs rise year after year over inflation. So while I am living right now litterally month to month, and I hope that means my car a 1989 Honda Civic has no serious problems, I can not imagine a way out by next year.
