Yes, that's been the long running feeling about
MS and the web. Make it important as a vehicle for commerce and downloads, but not as an independent and free platform, especially one that could erode market and mindshare. MS needs to have people buy the boxed platform. Apple and Microsoft aren't looking for Web 2.0 to diminish their cash cows.
