Linux fanboys will defend, and anti-Linux zealots will continue to lie
Linux was already every bit as power efficient as any other OS, which is to say hardly at all except for a few drivers and user programs that turn things off from time to time. Linux is trying a new approach in which programs will not have to waste even more cycles (power) in an attempt to see if it it can save cycles.
