Mandriva: I buy Mandriva, have been doing so for the last 5 years. Mandriva Linux is a good solid Linux.

I subscribe to the Mandriva user club as a Silver member, so I can download the latest version of their Power pack version, which has extras that aren't in the Freely available version (Mandriva One).

The freely available version of Mandriva Linux is an excellent starter version (it comes in two editions - GNOME desktop and KDE desktop. I have just finished setting up a laptop with Mandriva One (KDE), for a 10 year old boy, an adopted nephew.

I also manage to set up 1 or 2 computers a month, for people in my district, with Mandriva Linux. The only complaint I've had is from one bloke who tried running the 3D desktop with only 256Meg of RAM - the 3D desktop worked fine, it was just awfully slow.; Posted by: tracy anne Posted on: 06/25/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
