MSFT doesn't do that. They've had a strategy since day one of letting others invent new stuff, and test it in the market. Once an idea is proven, MSFT renames it and announces they've invented it. And people who don't know where new software ideas really come from believe it.

That's why MSFT is making protection deals instead of suing. The last thing they want is for any of these junk patents to go to court, where they'll be invalidated for prior art or over-generality.
