MS advances?
"However, I'm wondering if all the improved editions of IE which were not matched by Netscape because they were waiting on their open source project might not also have had an impact."

You talk about MS' IE improvements but don't say what they are. Do they have tabbed browsing? Do they have pop up blocking? What exactly are the improvements that you are talking about... active X access to you computer or some other 'improvement' so other computers can take over your computer?
