Gee, guys
It's amazing to see how you people can even make an issue of what's not an issue.

And I'll bet you're both wrong. I've seen popups on my wife's machine, because I had to enable them on realtor.com in order to save listings. Other sites use popups to change personalized settings. I just looked in Popup Manager and see I've enabled popups for 11 sites in the two years or so the option has been available.

Try, for example, some of the following:

www.dslavailability.com
www.pricewatch.com
www.rational.com
dau.mil
cards.citidirect.com

I don't recall having visited any of these for more than a year, but these sites are enabled in my manager, meaning that at that time some feature used popups. As a result of the furor over popups they might have subsequently changed, but you get the idea.

And about a year ago, I started to encounter a bevy of popups. Walk in to where the computer is merely idling, and find an ad for a university diploma or such staring at me. I had to find out about mesenger service and disable it to make that one go away. What's next?

Somebody somewhere must care about popups, because it does rate an occasional news article (or is it press release?) on ZDNet. So now you guys get into a contest about how long they have not existed. Is there no limit to partisanship?
