You could ask them to send you the transcript in either hieroglyphics or cuneiform tablets.

The problem, buddy, is that while regular news stories are text (and probably electronic) before it is presented on the air, interviews and audio feeds are not.

The H-P SpeechBot product mentioned in the article (originally developed by Digital Equipment Corp [DEC} before they were absorbed by H-P) automatically performs speech recognition on audio content and puts that text into a search index. A user can then search for that text. It's really a nice tool.
