You must have done it from an old package of Oracle
then.

I installed the same software for a test drive on
Mandrake 9.1 and it went off without so much as a burp.
It didn't rewrite dependencies for an old LSB-less distro it
just looked in the right place and found them.

Of course, it could be that urpmi is a better installation
and update tool but I suspect we have a user problem
here.
