linux is better than windows in some ways
Even if Linux was licensed on a per computer basis, I can't say with a straight face that it's not a better value than Windows.

Microsoft adds features, functionality and yes -- innovation (sorry, but they do)...however, Linux provides an operating system that doesn't try to change everyone. For people that just want to get a job done, simplicity is often the best answer.
