Bargain basement prices!
I'm confident that Linspire got bargain basement prices with longterm protection just for adding their name to the roster. MS is more interested in making a point than they are at making money at this point. But long term, I am very confident that it will all be good for Linux in general. MS has tried every trick in the book and then some to try to derail Linux. None have worked so far, this approach won't work either. They have yet to come to terms with the GPL, but that WILL happen.
