Dodgy deals
Microsoft is either threatening Linux distributors, or signing a 'pact' with them. Anyone else see this as the clearest indicator possible of Microsoft's intentions?

Imagine walking down the road, with a great big hulking gorilla following immediately behind you, treading on your heels, prodding you in the back, trying to trip you up, barging you, calling out threat after threat after threat. "All you have to do is sign a pact, and all this hassle will stop", says a smiling MS PR rep, walking alongside you with a clipboard, on which a 100 page contract is folded to the last page, a page with just a dotted line for your signature.

"Sign this, and the threats stop. Sign this, and the endless assaults and dirty tricks will stop".

You sign. The PR man laughs. Inside, you feel wrong, you know that something awful just happened, but you can't quite put your finger on it ....
