Linux will go GPL3 as soon as there is enough consensus. Solaris under GPL3
will be enough to create the consensus. Remember, parts can be re-written for anybody that refuses to accept the GPL3, though, faced with their code being removed from the kernel, almost all will agree. With the SCO case, they were forced to take time out and track down and document who wrote each file. This will not be a huge deal.
