Sounds Like Communism?
A central authority that controls all thought? I think the inevitable conclusion that the human race needs to come to is that intellectual property is an oxymoron and does not exist. Right now the patent office is more like the idea office. Register an idea and collect money from someone else who actually does something with the idea. Create a couple bars of sound and you own the sound practically forever. This nonsense needs to stop. As stated above in order for DRM to work effectively, in the case of music, all transmission of music over the internet would have to be illegal except by licensed and regulated companies in much the same way radio stations are regulated. Without a strong central censoring authority how could this be possible? An MS OS that filters out such transmissions? Who is willing to make MS God and let them tell you what you can and can not send over the internet?
