Microsoft has 78,000 employees and over 50,000 of them are in the US alone.

Microsoft employed around 35,000 employees around 2000 (before the bubble burst). So Microsoft has hired more employees in the US.

Also Microsoft has never fired an employee to offshore his work elsewhere. That honor goes to IBM who constantly fire here and hire in lower wage countries.
