ah .. but that's all AD is is LDAP, just a broken (extended) one

Then all of your boxes can talk LDAP to each other. This is old news, Novell had this down a long time ago!

That's why MS developed AD ... it was 100% to displace Novell, that's the smoking gun the EU found; MS refused to meet its previous level of supply to Novel (under contract) to all Novell to provide interop with NT ... since MS nolonger needed Novell it cut them out by extending LDAP ... that's all AD is, a proprietary LDAP with some cool apps forced into new Windows distros!
