GPLv3 - who cares?

Since the existing Linux infrastructure is currently licensed under the GPL-2
license, the only concern for GPL-3 religious doctrine is in the use of post GPL-3
publishing changes. If those changes are made by the vendors such as Xandros
and Novell to their existing code base rather than through the incorporation of
newly licensed code, the priests of GPL-3 will need to keep their penance to
themselves. The GPL-3 does not change the GPL-2 status of existing code in
much the same way a more restrictive warrantee on a new car doesn't affect the
warrantee that you received when you bought your car.

As far as the MS partnerships are concerned, you guys should realize that
anything that makes this all work together is a very good thing. In the immortal
words of Rodney King - "Can't we all just get along?"
