More agreement than you might think

I'd see no problems with open source at all if that were entirely true.
The idea of competition for Microsoft is good; the idea of eliminating jobs and lowering income is bad. The problem for me is the dominance of Mr. Stallman's ideas in the open source model. Even some people who disagree with him, consider his ideas off the wall, further his plans like lemmings pushing on to the cliff.
So, I'll just agree with your statement, and hope that everyone involved considers the impact of their actions on salaries and employment.

Okay.
My point is, though, that there is now an organization responsible for Linux which is subject to court action. Free software coming to resemble proprietary, as you say.
My questions were about what happens when a court tries to enlist that organization as a means of getting an a company/country outside its jurisdiction to comply.
If I'm reading you correctly, you'd agree that just like a proprietary company, the organization responsible for Linux would place restrictions on its use anywhere in the world.
That's a real tightening of control, I think.
We're seeing changes in response to the real world. That's not a criticism of Linux, but it does show ideas about open source are being modified.
