Didn't anybody READ the article?

From the above article:

"Not much fun. So, to avoid these kinds of issues 10 years from now, I'm suggesting that we put in more of a process to explicitly document not only where a patch comes from...but the path it came through."'

The point is that the raw data has ALWAYS been retained. The new approach will be to data base and enhance that data in order to make it more robust and more easily and quickly accessable. Any suggestion that this is evidence that free software is suspect because contributors are heretofore unaccountable is pure FUD!
