A failure.
The FSF is not the final say on what deals can be made between two companies and they are kidding themselves if they think so.

If it involves other peoples work, it is against the spirit of the GPL and one which a company such as Novell doesn't have the right to make on behalf of other who actually own the work.

The GPL v3 is destined to fail by its very nature. First, it was created around Microsoft to try to prevent them from doing anything, not for the better good of free software users. Secondly its too restrictive on what developers can do with it thus it will have very little if any adoption. Third, its a license made out of hatred and spite with very little thought put into it. You will see all the previous developers of GPL software switch to other licenses just because this v3 makes no sense.

We will have to see about what fails. I really don't think that you speak for anyone who might adopt the license or have any real insight into the future. You know opinions are like...
