a draft that prohibits future deals similar to the Microsoft-Novell patent pact but lets that one go ahead.
Wow, the FSF is really full of themselves if they have to say something like 'lets that one go ahead'. Like they had any power over it. The FSF is not the final say on what deals can be made between two companies and they are kidding themselves if they think so.
The GPL v3 is destined to fail by its very nature. First, it was created around Microsoft to try to prevent them from doing anything, not for the better good of free software users. Secondly its too restrictive on what developers can do with it thus it will have very little if any adoption. Third, its a license made out of hatred and spite with very little thought put into it.
