Printer trade secrets.

Yes, I know. Your statement is based on the assumption that Dell has very little in difference with HP. I don't know if you're an opponent in any way of Dell, but these days, it's INFORMATION that costs most, and not hardware. In this case, Dell probably had a lot more besides printer secrets that it was trying to keep under its belt.

Take Coca Cola for an example. Former Coca Cola exec tried to get a load of cash from Pepsi Cola for a trade secret on some new drink or another. But Pepsi Cola decided to be honest and instead turned over the letter containing the secret offer to the FBI. Exec got fired, fined. In this case, Coca Cola probably had a huge stake, despite what some people's assumptions that Coca Cola prolly had little in difference with Pepsi Cola. But secrets like that are sensitive.
