- Desktop search is not new, it has not been taken seriously. FirstStop WebSearch has over a million users, and growing. I am curious to know what is critical mass. In July of 2003 Web User magazine, 10-23, Issue 61 FirstStop WebSearch? won the prestigious Gold Award in a comparison of desktop search software, beating, among others, Copernic and WebFerret.
