No I am not
You meant Robert Half Technology ex-employee?

No way. they would have to dance for me to get me on board.

Found far better consulting companies. They outsource with more mind and not only overseas.

Now, I work as a consultant for large financial company block away from Wall Street and I am doing quite well. Well... enough that now I am leaving 'cause other company wants me even more with my experience.

That's why I don't appreciate Robert Half - like poor feedback on the market while they are digging holes for IT people.

If I can suggest something then avoid that company. Their offers on Hotjobs or Monster.com are appearing from time to time like some garbage. Talk to the others. There are smarter companies who can well balance outsourcing onshore, onsite and offshore (and no you can't avoid outsourcing but outsourcing overseas can be balanced with outsourcing within this country - onshore/onsite). Not all positions can be filled with just any IT person. You may want to avoid the most popular skills from time to time and be patient. Many IT people (and those recruiters) think that knowing some drag-and-drop Microsoft-like tool makes an engineer. The truth is cruel... even to many Microsoft certified engineers. They drop on interviews when asked more advanced topics of day-to-day IT operations, design principles (not Microsoft "design" principles), computer science theory. You can be the best and the fatest programmer of .NET or Java, but that's basically it. You hit the deck of your opportunities and unless you get into more advanced material they won't hire you. However, they will hire you on those advanced positions if you can think independently as an engineer who wants to take responsibility and wants to progress while being a nice and open person. In some places reasonable people know that what makes a real engineer is ability to learn and solve problems (and tools are just tools to learn in few days) - not that knowledge of particular tool or where something appears on the screen would make you an engineer. Customers of consulting companies however don't give damn. They just need the job to be done on time.

Good luck
