And another thing, this is really unprecedented, Bill Gates at the mercy
of Richard Stallman. Wouldn't ya just love to be able to hear some of the closed door meetings:

Balmer (screaming): This f*****g long haired idiot, who does he think he is. Let's sue the B*****ds.

Lawyer (calmly): We can't sue them, they only make the license, which happens to be very popular.

Balmer (screaming): Ok, then we will sue Linux, we can NOT have Linux competing with us, they have to violate some of our patents.

Lawyer (calmly): Linux is not a company, we can not sue Linux.

Balmer (screaming): Ok, then we will start suing anybody distributing Linux or open source, what is the progress of the patent search for infringement?

Lawyer (calmly): As we told you, there are a number of possibly infringing patents, but, as you know, there may be prior art for many of them, some may be too obvious, and, well, the others will only require coding changes to avoid using them.

Balmer (throwing chairs): What the H****LL are you saying. We paid millions to develop those patents, we are going to sue the SH***T out of the Linux vendors.

Lawyer (a little distressed): But, those Linux companies are worth very little, we might be able to get a few hundred million out of them, but in the process many of our patents would be invalidated, and others would be rendered useless through coding changes.

Balmer (stomping around with hand on head): Ok, then we will sue the f*****ing people using Linux.

Lawyer: That would include most of our current customers, almost all of which are using Linux.

Balmer (collapsing in a chair): Ok, what is the FUD value we can get out of this . . . . .
