The size of software is following
Moore's law. But it's fluff. How manny ways can you write a letter. How many ways can you post a journal entry. How many ways can you add a column of cells in a spread sheet.

Plus, every software vendor is getting sued today by patent holders. Today's patent (IP ways anyway) environment is thwarting software improvement.
