Microsoft realizes patents are bogus or questionable
The only legitimate reason Microsoft can have for refusing to specify which patents are being infringed is that they realize that most of those patents would be overturned if challenged and that Open Source developers would program around any patents that couldn't be overturned. If they knew the patents were legitimate and were convinced that they could not be programmed around, they would have no hesitation in revealing what patents were being infringed.
