Start you own business based on services
That's where the money is. I'm not talking about services like support so much as I'm talking about services like Cable TV. Make something like that and Open Source combined with proprietary software will make you rich. Just come up with the product and give it away for free. You can do that with software you can't do that with TVs. Then let them come to you to use your service which of course is closed proprietary software or GPL and not distributed.
