The simple truth is you must sell something to make money. As long as there are goof-ball programmers willing to program for free they will be exploited by the companies selling their work. Microsoft doesn't exploit programmers, it pays them! Microsoft sells a product at a reasonable competitive price - that is Not exploiting customers.
