Customers ask for information about future products
Like it or not, Microsoft's customers have asked it for information about the next version of SQL Server, and here is Microsoft giving customers what they want. (They may want that information to help them decide whether to upgrade to the current version, 2005, or wait for the next version, for example.) Antitrust laws are ultimately meant to protect and benefit the consumer; I hardly think that Microsoft providing its customers with the information they request is against antitrust laws.

Specifically you cite IBM's antitrust case settlement. I'm not too familiar with IBM's situation, but I thought that the government eventually abandoned their case in 1982? I don't believe there was a settlement, but there may have been various agreements that IBM made, such as what you say about not releasing information about future products. However, IBM agreeing to this doesn't make it a law for all companies with monopoly power; Microsoft's antitrust settlement says nothing about the subject.
