Also, here's something that might help you understand why .net isn't all that: http://www.veridicus.com/tummy/programming/dotnetshame.asp It's not to say Java is perfect, but it is inifinitely better than you think it is.

To add, it appears that dice.com has 17268 java jobs, and only 7382 C# jobs. Oddly enough that would imply that people want Java skills more than twice as much as they want C# skills. Also, if you search on .net skills that returns 10624. Oddly enough Java jobs beat the whole .net thing comfortably. So, please give it up already. People clearly think Java is more than viable, and much more viable than the whole .net thing if positions on offer are anything to go by.
