Sun tries again with consumer-flavored Java

So no...I'd like to know any weaknesses from anyone who has compaired the 2

Or even read the specs instead of just mouthing off.

I agree Sun missed the original boat with Java in certain aspects.

Flash/Flex/Apollo are headed down the right direction but not 100% there yet.

Silverlight is almost saying they will go in the right direction...sort of...still to soon to tell and further away then the adobe solution at this point.

Three players in this same new area each with their own way of doing essentially the same thing. Why am I reminded of the early web? Where a single player would unify and give us a good experience, instead, we will again fragment web technology for probably 5 years or so until developer get re-sick of it and insist on unified standards.

Oh well...
