Oracle offers installation guidance for users to evaluate and run Oracle and distributes pre-configured Oracle Database for use in VMware virtual machines.
Oracle, Citrix and BEA are all VMWare partners. The only thing that is absolutely not a good virtualization candidate is a locked in paradigm. Break that paradigm and almost anything else is fair game given an adequate environment/sufficient resources.
