By it's very nature all "faith" based philosophy's have to be

at least a little closed minded.

Take my own experiences for example. Unfortunetly I've had to suffer through this current wave of "sprititual revival" in this country. (As a minor history buff I know that this too will pass) As these waves tend to eb and flow..so to will this one pass. Still I've had more than my fair share of people's feeling the "calling" to get into my face and bring the joy's of Jesus into my life (Weather I want this or need it is another question all to gether and one they don't seem to ask themselves)

My grandmother a good old fashion Roman Catholic often tells me "I have to believe in God" and when I ask her to tell me why? She gets very frustrated cause she knows I won't except emotion...just the facts gram. And by it's nature faith does not base itself on facts. It trys on occasion to mix science and other fact based information but when I've digged deaper you always find at it's core simply faith..and no imperical evidence.

Christians have stopped me on the street and asked in their wild eyed enthusiasim "Have you let Jesus into your heart" Being mischevous at heart I smile and say "Yes! I did, but he began to cause interuptions in my blood flow...So I moved him into my ependix (an organ that does not seem functional, so it's hard for me to see how a master planner like God would include such a useless organ in my design) Then I go on and say "He's very happy there and is currently putting up drapes and wall to wall carpeting" Then I move on as the wild eyed Christian trys to digest my words.

My original point being I've yet to meet any person of faith who believes with all their heart that I must except their concepts....is in any fashion able to give me a well thought out "REASON" to do so. They do give me emotions lie "Would'nt it me nice if" or "If you do not except Jesus you will go to HELL" Fear the more primal of motivational factors "What IF I do end up in Hell!?!"

So by it's nature....all people of faith have to be at least a little closed minded. They "know" they are right and on the true course, and yet they can not take this so called knowledge and express it in some reasonable fashion so that other can see it for the truth is supposedly is"

By it's very nature faith has to be at least a little closed minded and often is a LOT closed minded.

I am willing to except the possibility of a God. Still what I require is some sort of proof of said. Once I get past that point...then I would also require that "your" version of God is the correct one. Two very daunting tasks I admit.
