In case you check back..

"Are you seriously trying to say that CIOs and CFOs just ignore
Apple altogether?"

That is exactly my experience. I have even had CIO's tell me
they would NEVER consider Apple in the enterprise. When
pushed, the answer has something to do with the technology of
Windows 98 and NT.

In fact, when working for a very well known systems integrator
and super "New Economy" company in the late 90's, I was told to
NOT use my Mac at work (the company had bought it) because
we were becoming a Microsoft test company, or some such
garbage, of new application software.

At the time, I debated the merits of total dependency on one
platform in a company of our size. Since that time, my employer
has been absorbed by a company that now embraces Linux
when MS released Windows Server something.

All this is very anecdotal, but yes, there is a very closed mind in
the enterprise, in my opinion. Mac = graphics. No graphics, no
Macs.
