Lies, planted by Microsoft:
The guy who wrote this article is nothing but a SHILL for M$.

"Greffier said that the current demand for Vista is stronger than for Windows 2000 or XP."

No: That is totally wrong. Windows XP MCE is selling like hotcakes at places like NewEgg.com... Especially in packs of Three Full Retail versions. The prices are right... 130 per MCE licence. Free Vista updates were being offered, but nobody bothers to update. The price for VISTA U.E. is approximately 400 DOLLARS- 400 dollars for the only version that is worthwhile, Ultimate Edition. 199 or so gets you Basic... Worthless... Worthless.

If the only option for people with not a lot of money is to get Vista Home Basic, then they ought to simply BUY Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Vista Home Basic is being put into 2.8 GHz Celeron Systems with only 512 Ram and only 250 GB Hard Drives. The heck! Swap out the chip, then swap out the OS... Media Center Ed can do a lot with 512 Ram, but Vista will barely run.

Here is what is happening: People are actually using Vista, but in DUAL BOOT systems with usually XP MCE- I found out that in my neighborhood, this is a very common practice. The VISTA partitions are usually ULTIMATE edition

I have heard people on the phone with Sony, Dell (who are arses), Gateway and HP (Who are worse) crying that they really want XP MCE. HP refuses.. Refuses to even ship a system with NO OS, which we would all rather have.

Basically the fact is, that VISTA is the worst OS since Windows Millennium Edition: Highly UNSTABLE. Vista NEEDS no less than 2 Gig 1000 MHz FSB DDR II or III RAM, a Terabyte Hard Drive (Which is filled roughly half by JUST the Vista OS), and a 512 MB (But it really needs a Video Card with a TB of DDR III ram, 16x PCI-Ex Video Card to run.

Under MCE: These specs make a VERY fast and stable machine. MCE is the most stable OS since Windows 2000 and people MUST continue to buy it- Something of QUALITY needs Public Pressure for continuance. I have done battle with XP Home edition for almost 7 years, and I have fought with XP Pro for the same amount of time. But one year ago, when the versions of MCE that were being sold were based on the XP Pro Kernel, XP finally had become a solid, stable interface.

Also, XP x64 edition came out and I had it in my Athlon x64. GREAT, Perfectly STABLE, Easily repaired OS.

More people are REFUSING to use Vista than any other OS: Just like people rather than deal with ME, kept on using Windows 98 until Windows 2000 was ready... The same goes now... As people are buying these WALMART Specials. they are WIPING the hard drives and installing their versions of Media Center Edition.

So do not believe these lies that creeps like this guy are planting on behest of Microsoft. XP MCE is in extreme demand- And a MCE computer, although not as good as an OSX Tiger or Jaguar system, is a fine system. I had a client beg me to install MCE and it all went in like butter: Under VISTA there
When OSX was new, G-4s ran all of the audio and video software with all the frills on systems running at 400 MHz with 128 MB of PC-100 DDR Ram.

If your intent is to play games that are Vista-Only, but an external 750 to 1000 GB 300 GB/s SATA Hard Drive and run Vista as a second OS- But I would suspect, there is probably a way to install the vista-only direct-X into MCE. There is always a way to get around MS and all their ridiculous security things.

If you want a 64-bit OS? Windows XP x64. Can be installed on Intel or AMD systems. That MS did not continue to develop XP x64, is a MAJOR reversal to the industry. Intel, instead of coming out with a 64 bit Core Duo, kept on making 32 bit chips, whole AMD has gone several generations with the x64 systems.

No... Not everyone is happy with VISTA... I am NOT. All of my friends are not. All of my CLIENTS are not happy with it- They all have no intention of upgrading to Vista

And that is More the truth than the false statement:

"Greffier said that the current demand for Vista is stronger than for Windows 2000 or XP."

No, that is a LIE.
