Intel, Dell hold off on internal rollout of Vista

Nothing but good practice.

Look, the practice of letting others be on the bleeding edge is time honored and for many a smart move. We (my cpmpany) write software, we test the crap out of it, we regression test it, we beta test it to selectd users, we test it some more, and then we release it to our customers and its guaranteed that we will find some sort of gotcha or bug with a (hopefully) small percentage of users.

We clean that up and and push it out as an SP. There is no doubt in anyones mind that its "better" than the first release. Thats sort of the whole idea isn't it? I mean every OS seems it is in constant upgrade, both open source and proprietary.

Letting a major release like Vista get its first service pack under the belt before rolling it out company wide is just good business. Is the use of Vista itself good business? The juries still out on that one...
