Greed
That's what it is, plain and simple. If companies like Enron and Worldcom can get away with what they have (think having friends in high places doesn't help that - think again), what hope do the rest of us have.

The classic am I better off today then I was 4 years ago: NO! Four years ago I had a steady job, decent income, medical isurance, almost no debt, and a mortgage. Today I'm struggling to get freelance work, have no insurance, no savings, and am trying deperately to hold on to my home.

NAFTA didn't do all of this - greed did. I'm not saying it didn't help - but it certainly didn't cause all the 'off shore' headquarters for companies to avoid paying taxes; didn't send the jobs overseas and still allow companies to write off expenses and more taxes.

I send my thanks weekly to Washington for supporting big-business and their BASE of large money donors.

November cannot come quick enough for me and most of my friends.
