- Yeah, but how many are going to come back?
- It's not a good idea to outsource your family jewels but many companies are doing this to save a buck or two on the short term. In reality, outsourcing only makes sense in a few situations and is a costly and risky move in many others. Stock holders will begin to look unfavorably on this strategy as the chickens come home to roost at many companies. They'll realize that saving 40% up front is no savings when it costs 20-30% more on the backend in addition to losing business expertise.
