Not bad, but... (here is the answer)
Every large company involevd in IT jumped onto offshore outsourcing bandwagon. That is for the sudden reason of "savings" (and there are reasons why I write it in double quotes) as if this had never been a reason to manage a company properly or this soultion had never been an option before.

Now, the companies do that massively to outrun competition in this so called "savings". That's also what I noticed here downtown Manhattan even if a company does not have large IT department and could easily rely on a consulting company that knows how to provide business process support with balanced offshore outsourcing. Well... they are in that business so they should know better.

That whole sudden outburst of trend that actually is not new (outsourcing and outsourcing offshore existed before) causes loss of balance in IT job market in the USA.

Perhaps before starting offshore outsourcing, large companies could better collaborate with US univeristies and INS to change direction young generations of Americans and foreign workers go. I know it is an "ideal solution" in non-perfect world. However, the instability and burst of a new economic trend could be better controlled. After all, that pertains our own jobs.
