they are getting scared
of the fact that more and more people are slowly moving towards Ubuntu. Shoving their OS down your throats with preinstalled systems was a clever move, but in emerging markets, where people use older systems, that was not a working model. So guess what? Either make it almost free, or watch China moving to Linux.

I have to say this is a clever move from MS.
