It is not just Open Source supporters
OOXML has been criticized by many who are not part of the ODF camp. I have said this before, MS needs to address the deficiencies in the standard. Having an entry that says, "use the proprietary method for Word 3.0 to process this tag" is useless. As a standard, it does not stand on it's own, and can only be used in it's entirety if you also have a copy of every proprietary protocol to decode what the standard doesn't disclose.

MS will lose this battle, they need to fast track making the standard an actual standard.
