Are all MS's 50,000 jobs still in America?
Besides changes in industry have often resulted in massive employment changes. However the economic model is sound. As the horse and buggy industry went away other industries absorbed the work force that was released by the the buggy collapse. the same will happen "IF" MS fails.

However I'm not predicting MS's ultimate demise. In my world MS would shrink, and in doing so become a better company. It's products would get better, and safer. The cost of doing business with MS would go down considerable (benefiting countless people and business) Following the basic rules of true capitalisim competition being a main part of that ideology then competition will have a beneficial effect on the over all economy. Quality goes up...while the cost of a product goes down.

Now if we could only do that for Health Care, Cable and the worst of the bunch the Pharmacutical Industry.

In the end I'm not saying MS will fail...simply adjust, and in the process loose a bit of fat.
