- Another case of Microsoft's anti-competitive behavior
-
Lindows. Windows. The names are similar, but does that mean they're the same? Is Lindows actually infringing Microsoft's trademark?
Furthermore, Lindows is only the company name. The product name itself is Linspire. There's no way this could cause any confusion.
Personally, I don't like the name Lindows. It does sound a lot like Windows. In fact, It's quite possible that that's where the name came from. But that doesn't give Microsoft an excuse for suing Lindows.
No company has ever been so picky about trademarks as Microsoft is now. And I'm sure that Microsoft isn't really worried that the name Lindows will cause confusion. They're worried that Lindows will hinder them from ruling the entire software market. The real story behind the Microsoft vs. Lindows lawsuits is that Microsoft is carrying on their anti-competitive practices - the same practices that they have always used. - Posted by: Linux_Developer Posted on: 05/11/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
